We will soon be moving Relay UK on to a new digital platform and to make the transition as smooth and easy as possible for everyone, we’re asking all users to make sure they have the latest version of the app (version 7.1.111) installed on their phones, tablets and Mac computers (Note, the Windows update isn’t quite ready but will follow soon).
The app will stop working on all versions earlier than version 6.12.13 by early December 2024, so if you haven’t got round to updating by then, you will need to uninstall and reinstall Relay UK before you’ll be able to make and receive calls.
As we move over to the new platform over the coming weeks, you may also notice a few other changes such as:
- Some calls may take fractionally longer to connect than you’re used to - but only until we’re fully on the new platform.
- If you’re making a payment by a credit or debit card, we are trialling a new way of doing this, so your call may be passed over to another Relay Assistant whilst the payment is being accepted by the person you’re calling.
- If a Relay Assistant has to hand your call over to a colleague, this will take a moment but should be less disruptive and give you a better call experience overall.
