IMPORTANT UPDATE - Relay UK is now digital!

Relay UK is now working on our new digital platform and to make sure you enjoy the best experience when using the service, please:

  • Update your app to the latest version before you make or receive any more Relay UK calls

                        o   For Android and Apple phones and tablets, this is version 8.1.6

                        o   For Mac and Windows computers, version 8.0.42

                        o   These versions were updated in November 2025

  • It’s important to update your app whenever new versions become available, as they will have been tested and run smoothly on current operating systems and devices, whilst older versions may become less reliable and eventually stop working.
  • Please note: the old NGT Lite app doesn’t work on our digital platform and has been retired.

What else has changed?

Our migration over to the new platform aligns with the broader upgrade to a fully digital UK phone network, so we’ve made a few other changes too, these include:

  • A more secure card payment process. If you’re making a payment by a credit or debit card, your call will be passed over to another Relay Assistant whilst the payment is being accepted by the person you’re calling. This keeps your data safe and makes sure we meet the latest Industry standards for these types of calls.
  • Where longer calls need to be handed over to another Relay Assistant, we’ve improved the process to minimise any disruption to your conversation. This allows for a brief transfer that will only take a moment and gives you a better call experience overall than previously.
